THEIA

Individuals with special needs in our society face various difficulties while performing the activities necessary to continue their daily lives. Despite the existence of this problem, the quantity and quality of studies on the problem are insufficient. While scanning the literature, it is noteworthy that the number of schools for individuals with low vision or low vision is low. During the interview with the Bafra Association for the Visually Impaired, the inadequacy of the education that individuals with low or low vision receive in normal schools was frequently mentioned. The main objective of this study is to carry out studies aimed at facilitating the lives of these individuals. In this project, a school design has been designed to make the education life of individuals with low or low vision more comfortable, and classrooms, dining halls, toilets, etc., which individuals need to go to. A wearable technology product has been developed that will make it easier to reach places as much as possible. Areas such as the school canteen, infirmary and teachers' room are represented by lines of different colors. The product is positioned at the end of the shoes and senses the colored lines drawn on the school floor with the help of the color sensor and guides the user through vibration. In addition, it warns of possible collisions with other objects through the ultrasonic sensor. The user can direct the mobile application on his phone with voice commands and can determine the colored line that he needs to follow in order to go to the location he wants to go from the interface. Arduino nano was chosen as the microcontroller card in the project due to its small size.
